BOYS 2 MEN TOUR WITH SALT N PEPA?
Get ready to dust off your ’90s playlist because one of the biggest R&B tours of the year is heading to Australia. Grammy-winning legends Boyz II Men are returning this November, joined by hip-hop trailblazers Salt-N-Pepa and New Jack Swing icons Bell Biv DeVoe for a celebration of the music that defined a generation. Fans in Victoria can catch the trio at A Day on the Green at Mount Duneed Estate, Geelong, on Saturday 28 November—the closest show to Melbourne.
Expect a hit-filled setlist featuring classics like End of the Road, I’ll Make Love to You, Motownphilly, Shoop and Push It. If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to relive the golden era of R&B, this is it.
HOTTEST NEW RNB GIRL GROUP
If you’ve been missing the days of Destiny’s Child, TLC and SWV, it’s time to get FLO on your playlist. The London trio, Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer are leading a new wave of R&B girl groups, blending rich harmonies, slick choreography and early 2000s nostalgia with a fresh, modern sound.
Their latest album, Therapy at the Club, proves they’re more than just a throwback act, cementing their place as one of the most exciting groups in R&B right now. It’s like Destiny’s Child energy but for a new generation. Three distinct voices that shine equally and a sound that’s bringing girl groups back into the spotlight.
ASHANTI APPRECIATION POST
Okay, we lied… this isn’t exactly breaking news, but Ashanti deserves a moment. More than two decades later, her music still has us singing every word. From Foolish and Rock Wit U (Awww Baby) to Always On Time and Mesmerize, her catalogue defined the golden era of R&B—and somehow still sounds just as good today.
Whether you’ve been a fan since day one or you’re discovering her through throwback playlists, one thing’s for sure: Ashanti never misses. Question is… what’s the greatest Ashanti song of all time? We’re still torn between Foolish and Always On Time?
