MICHAEL JACKSON FILM REVIEW
Beloved icon Michael Jackson is loved by millions across the world, so it’s no surprise his new biopic has everyone talking. Whether you grew up listening to Billie Jean on repeat or you simply know him as the King of Pop, the film delivers a heavy dose of nostalgia, music and unforgettable performances.
Love his music but unsure whether to see the film? Let us help you.
WHAT THE CRITICS THOUGHT
Some critics and viewers felt the film focused more on recreating iconic moments rather than diving deeper into Michael Jackson’s personal life and emotional struggles. While the performances were visually impressive, parts of the story were said to lack emotional depth, leaving some audiences wanting a more raw and personal portrayal behind the superstar image.
BEST MOMENTS FROM THE FILM
That being said, what makes the film so enjoyable is how it reminds audiences why Michael Jackson’s music still connects generations together today. Even decades later, his songs still fill dance floors, playlists and karaoke nights around the world. The movie leans heavily into that feeling of nostalgia, making it just as entertaining for lifelong fans as it is for newer listeners discovering his music for the first time.
The highlight of the movie, without a doubt, has to be the recreated live performances of some of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits. From the famous moonwalk during Billie Jean to the electric performance of Beat It and the behind-the-scenes recreation of the Thriller music video, the production captures the energy that made him one of the greatest entertainers of all time. The sound design, choreography and acting all work together to make the performances feel larger than life.
